Effective Duration - A duration calculation for bonds with embedded options. Effective duration takes into account that expected cash flows will fluctuate as interest rates change.
Duration - Duration is a measure of bond price sensitivity to interest rate changes. For Mortgagebacked Securities, the calculation incorporate consensus model assumptions relating to future interest rates, market volatility, and (pre-) payment of principal of underlying borrowers.
